Confidence

Confidence comes from the inside. You feel confident, and so, you act confidently; not the other way around.

Well, sometimes you’ve gotta to act confidently in order to feel confident – or “fake it until you make it”. But you can’t always depend on the outside (environment) to feel confident inside. That’s why there are many people who are handsome, talented and highly rated yet have low esteem and bad self-image. They just can’t do great things in life with a terrible self-image.

True confidence comes from inside out.

Confident people do things others are afraid of. They speak up when others don’t. They takes the lead and initiatives when others are frightened. They represent; they lead and show the way. Others feel good and safe under their leadership.

The reverse is true for arrogant people. They make others feel bad and inferior. Ultimately, they have a low self-esteem and self-image. Sometimes, they only feel good only when others feel bad. They must be right all the time. That feeds their ego, which otherwise always feel insufficient.

Confidence is a necessary ingredient of success. Yet overconfidence leads to arrogance and loss of focus.

Ba Que?

No Bad Publicity

#NgaMy

There is no such thing as bad publicity #UncleG

Yes whether it’s good or bad.

Good publicity is of course great but the bad one isn’t necessarily bad. As a matter of fact, our fear (due to nature) makes bad news and terrible things headline!

While bad news gets punch and harsh words, it attracts lots more attention and care and share than good news. And in this world full of distractions, attention trumps it all.

Publicity is arguably the best way of marketing. 5s ad in TV costs thousand bucks. Bad publicity has the same marketing reach yet it’s free. Why not!?

Lose Battles to Win War

Mr. Obama once proudly said the U.S. never lost any major battles during the Vietnam War. While that may be true, they eventually lost the war.
In reality, often times you have to be willing to lose battles to win the war. That’s applicable even not in war time.

Every winner once loses.

Fortunately, you don’t always have to “win”. Sometimes it’s better to lose an argument, a game, a girl to achieve your goals and more long term success. The difference is WINNERS win when it matters. They win when it counts. There are so-called “big match” players who consistently perform well the finals.

Everyone makes mistakes.

The more mistakes you make, the more you learn. So what you can do is to make as many mistakes as possible when it’s not important;  in practice.

Try. Make mistakes. Learn and move on.

No one will ever remember who came in second. So prepare, practice and WIN when it matters!

Awesome People

These are a list of AWESOME, CHARISMATIC & highly SUCCESSFUL people who make me obsessed for a long period of time.

2017

Napoleon Hill

(June/July)

Finding “the SECRET” through his masterpiece “The Law of Success in 16 Lessons”
The Master Key + Think & Grow Rich + PMA

– Jordan Belfort (April, May)
Through the Wolf of Wall Street movie: Talent + Drugs + Girls / Party
His “Straight Line Persuation” sale lessons.

2016

Grant Cardone

(since late Nov)

Energetic, inspiring, slightly “arrogant” kind of guy (not for everyone; his voice & the way he speaks like Robert or even more aggressive).
He’s like GaryVee who don’t really believe in those “the Secret or Law of Attraction”. They believe in pure ACTIONS! Inspiring but not really a teacher!

His “Whatever it takes” Interview is so inspiring too!

– Donald Trump

(I’ve watched him very closely from his Rep campaigns – Auguest 2015 until election day till Nov 8)

Surprised and even disappointed with his tweets/reactions. He seems really thin-skinned. He’s definitely a listener than a dictator; Mike Pence selection & his apology video after “grab her by the pussy” incident confirm that. Tremendously charismatic!

– Gary Vaynerchuk / simply fall in <3 his massive energy (ard Apr till Oct)|
Take ACTIONS – massive actions!

– Tai Lopez

<3 his “Lamborghini ads on YT”; the more I listen to his YT videos, the more I like him (after LNY till Aug). Listenning to his videos very often – almost everyday.

Honorable mentions:

2015

– Donald Trump
Since his presidential announcement on June 16, I’ve watched him thoroughly from his primary to presidential campaign, his debates vs Hillary and finally the Election day. A very rare people who can keep my wholehearted attention for such a long period of time (more than 1 year).

His “Think BIG & Never Give Up” is a must-watch video

– Shark Tank
No patient to watch a long (boring) movie, let alone many-episodes-kind of shows, but Love the show so much. Been watching hundreds episode until LNY. I will bring it to VN someday & be a shark 😀

Honorable mentions: Nick Woodman (Go Pro / Shark Tank); “YWIYC”

2014

– Thich Nhat Hanh
Since hearing the news (around Sep?) that my Uncle having cancer, I was listening to almost all his videos available online until the next LNY. Learn a lot from him (his calm & attractive voice and mindful thoughts) though I’m not a Buddhist.

Honorable mentions: Guy Kawasaki – 12 Lessons Steve Jobs Taught Guy Kawasaki

2013

– Jim Rohn

Recommended by my Bro; love & listen to him for a long while; his philosophies totally change my life!

Honorable mentions: Donald Trump

2012

– “The Science of Getting Rich”

2011

– Robert Kiyosaki
His “Rich Dad Poor Dad” book changes my career direction tremendously while I was still in Uni. I somehow enjoy hearing him saying along this line “You’re loser!”

– “Attraction isn’t a Choice!”

2009 – 2010

Proud

Here are a few personally achievements that I’m very PROUD of myself:

# I’m earning a few hundred dollars of Passive Income every month

# I do 100 (fast) push-ups in a row!

# I complete 5Km within 25′

# I have so many beautiful & memorable memories!
I’m not saying I’m proud to date many girls – or have many girls liked/loved me (though I probably am ;), I’m happy & proud of the memories & experience that we’ve had!

# I have traveled to over 10 countries & 15 cities at the age of 25 using my own money!

# I start working at 20 years ago when almost all my friends were still in Uni

… to be updated…

I’m convinced everyone should have this list that make them FEEL GOOD! Don’t fool yourself. Don’t let it make you complacent. Let it inspire you to keep moving forward instead.

Success 2016

This is the second seminar I attended this year after the NAC, which is a backward step compared to last year

Anyway, there are a number of new speakers this year, in addition to common faces of Peng Joon, JT Foxx, Gerry Robert, and Kevin Green, who have been appearing on all Success Resources’ seminars in recent years. It’s worth noticing that there is no female speaker whatsoever (among 8 speakers – yet again) though. There is really a serious demand for motivational speaker as Kevin (?) said.

I skipped the earliest first 2 sessions each day, attended 4 sessions plus the Nick Vujicic’s keynote speech. I watched 2 of them speaking before but overall I’ve learned quite a lot of stuff:

Kevin Green

Good speaker!

  • Morning routine: Do something crazy when you first wake up in the morning: “Yes, Yes, Yes” or anything that makes you feel GOOD #Energy
  • 2 Rich Rules #Properties
    • Keep 2 & Sell 1 / 3 properties you buy
    • Pay off all properties’ debts by Year 10 vs Robert Kiyosaki of always using debts
  • Always own & control the RULES
  • His story of being told “Don’t set your goals too high or you’ll get disappointed..”
  • Family vs Money
  • Honest & Integrity

Sandy Jadeja

First time meeting him. Experienced & Knowledgeable! He looks & is very serious too albeit not really a “motivational” speaker. I left early during his speech on Day 1 but did learn some good things from the sidelines during lunch break on Day 2.

  • “Singapore is so expensive. You’re getting ripped off. Why should you ever live here?” #Residences
    • Like Hongkong, the transportation (& infrastructure?) is great
    • “Properties & alcohol” are expensive vs food
  • “Go & Travel more!”
    • He borrowed 10,000 pounds to travel ~ 26 years ago.
  • Build sth Portable (automated)
  • Forecasts vs Predictions
  • Super Rich people plans for Decades ahead vs Years vs Months (middle class) vs Days (poor)
  • His 3Fs
    1.  Fear
    2. Financial Understanding
    3. Follow Through

Roger Hamilton

Look like a nice & successful guy but not really a great speaker. He tried to involve 3 girls during his speech but not really successful ( – that over ecstatic girl who make $4,000 of passive income month & seeking for a husband to become an amazing housewife 😀 😀 :D).

Anyway he’s given some very good points & lessons:

  • Be extremely clear on your goals & deadline
  • You can re-frame the answer by suggesting it:
    • Asking ppl to look for 5 items in “red”
    • Look for 10 things in the room
    • Close your eyes, list 5 items in pink :O
  • “If you’re doing HARD work, you’re doing the wrong things!”
You must do sth you totally enjoy – suitable to you & in your strengths (vs weaknesses)
  • If you don’t know where you are & where you wanna go, you’re going nowhere even though you have the map (information)! You need DIRECTIONS!
  • Wealth Dynamics Profile (Creator vs Trader; Supporter vs Lord (system)) – know thyself!

Gerry Robert

Seen him before but never finish watching his speech until today. Great speaker & presentation.

  • Go wide not deep when writing content for your book for branding
    • Be a REPORTER! – Interview others!
  • Humor sells! So do design (cover)!
    • Have a few (funny) videos during his presentation. Walk the talk!
  • How to get others pay for everything (write & publish your book)
    • Bonus chapter (ads written by others)
    • Ads
  • Great sell technique!
    • Having his seminar sign-up sheet (removable) printed on the provided booklet
    • Do the normal selling stuff – splashing the price; add on bonuses, etc.
      • “Raise your hands if you think I’m gonna sell you sth during my speech” – Well I won’t disappoint you 😀 😀
    • All of a sudden, say it’s FREE & ask ppl to rush to the boot (get out of their seats, change their state..)
    • Eventually ask for $97 w/o Money Back Guarantee (reasonable explanations though). Some may feel deceived but consistency (principle) would make a lot of people still buy his seminar.

And there come

Nick Vujicic!

His 8 strategies are nothing special & specific but seeing him in person is already inspiring: sweet voice, beautiful & inspiring story with a good sense of humor!

  • What do you want? Seeing the full picture
  • Accept who you are! (things you can & cannot change)
  • The map (knowledge & information) is useless you know who you are & where you wanna go
  • Be grateful!
  • You can always be a miracle to someone else!
  • – But I’m without limbs
Build a business, they will become your arms & legs!
  • Great exercise/practice:
“List your top 3 goals & top 3 obstacles that prevent you to achieve those goal then Stand up.

“If you can somehow access any resources that you want (be it sth, anything or some person, any person ~ MIRACLE), could they solve all your problems/obstacles?”. If they do, Sit down.
It’s such a simple yet powerful practice that can remove any limit on my head!!! All obstacles lie on my mind & it is POSSIBLE to solve them eventually!

Meanwhile, there are still (~20 then 10) people who keep standing.

Nick asked & explained some of their problems but I think he himself is the best answer to all their questions/problems/obstacles. Despite his unfortunate physical disability, he can still stand there, talk & inspire all of us. I don’t think there is any bigger obstacle than that (be it physical disability or family issues…)

It was a great opportunity to meet & ask very successful people in person but I didn’t really seize it. I will definitely do it next time!!
