The Magic of Thinking Big Overview

1. Believe You can Succeed and You Will

Success means many wonderful, positive things.

Believe, really believe you can move a mountain and you can. Not many people believe that they can move mountains. So, as a result, not many people do. You can’t wish away a mountain… But you can move a mountain with belief. You can win success by believing you can succeed.

Belief, strong belief, triggers the mind to figuring ways and means and how-to. Believe, really believe, you can succeed and you will.

Think doubt and fail. Think victory and succeed.

A person is a product of his own thoughts. Believe big and grow big.

Your mind is a “thought factory”. It’s a busy factory, producing countless thoughts in one day. => under the charge of two foremen, – Mr. Triumph and other Mr Defeat. Both of them are intensely obedient.

How to develop the power of belief

1. Think success, don’t think failure. “I’ll win” not “I’;; probably lose” – “I’m equal to the best” not “I’m out-classed”

2. Remind yourself regularly that you are better than you think you are. Successful people are not supermen; they are just ordinary folks who have developed belief in them-selves and what they do. Never – yes, never-sell yourself short.

3. Believe big. The size of your success is determined by the size of your belief. Big ideas and big plans are often easier – certainly no more difficult, than small ideas and small plans.

2. Cure yourself of Excusitis, The Failure Disease

Unsuccessful people suffer a mind-deadening thought disease – EXCUSITIS. Every failure has this disease in its advanced form. And most “average” persons have at least a mild case of it.

=> Health, Intelligence, Age (too old or too young), luck

3. Build Confidence and Destroy Fear

It’s only your imagination, Don’t worry. There’s nothing to be afraid of. Fear is real. And we must recognize it exists before we can conquer it. Most fear today is psychological. Worry, tension, embarrassment, panic all stem from mismanaged, negative imagination. But simply knowing the breading ground of fear doesn’t cure fear.

Action cure fear. Indecision, postponement, on the other hand, fertilize fear.

Malacca Trip

I’ve just spent my new year in Malacca – a historical town which is just a 3-hour plus on bus from Singapore and around another 2 to KL.

At first, it was said to be boring and nothing much there. In fact, I did feel regret when arrange a relatively long trip in that small town. However, it turns out to be a good trip and rest for a new year.

One of my very first impression there is the weather. It was all sunny yet not very hot with a little bit cloudy at times. That was such a fantastic weather to hang around the town.

Very talented & interesting personality

Another funny guy

I don’t know if they’re English and Malay names about Malacca (indeed, they are) but I found it quite funny when they don’t standardize its name in the same context. Even in a same museum, some call it Malacca; some, Melaka.

Nice firework from Malacca

As a historical destination, it reminds me of my hometown Hue which is also a famous tourist destination in Vietnam. Similar to Hue, Malacca is also famous for its food. However, I myselft find it quite normal as similar as those Malay food I’ve tried in Singapore. They’ve got Egg Oyster; Nasi Lemak, Ayam Penyet, etc.. Among them, Nasi Lemak is absolutely my favorite Malay dish now. Of course, their prices there are pretty cheap, especially in compared to those in Singapore. We spent around RM 50 for a decent sushi there which would cost the same price but in Singapore Dollar in Singapore.

Cheap & decent durian. We bought 1 for only RM25

Would it be more well-arranged in terms of days, activities and money, we would have had a better trip. Anyways, they are severed as a good experience for us for our next trips. Overall, to be honest, I would not come back Malacca anytime soon (partially cos we did spent a lot of time there), but it’s a very decent and nice place to visit. Recommended.

Uncopyright

While I acknowledge the fact that sometimes usually we have to pay a price to get something worthwhile,

I love free stuff! (don’t you?)

Although many agree that sharing is caring & giving is receiving, often-times we have an unnecessarily copyright mindset. We usually come under the illusion that we should copyright everything we own even those deemed not useful at all – while in fact, no one would wanna steal it anyway 🙂

In case it’s stolen meaning our stuff is actually useful, it should be shared even more. We shouldn’t own anything useful. That scarcity mindset of keeping everything for our own good doesn’t help anyone whatsoever, including ourselves!

Again I’ll be glad if you happen to learn something here. You can share, distribute, smile, laugh at or do whatever you wanna with it. Credit is appreciated but not required.

ps: I’m gonna to release a minimalist WP theme called “rexy” based on my blog’s design absolutely for free and uncopyrighted. Stay tuned.

2013 New Year Wishes and Promises

I am bold enough to voice out my opinions
But wise enough not insult nor offend any.
I am good enough to do and achieve my purposes in life and career.
I am strong enough to stand up straight despite difficulties and obstacles
I am decisive enough to make important decisions and actions quickly in a short amount of time.

I am what it’s said I am

When I stop…

When I failed to date a foreign girl, I told my friend, it’s because of “language barrier”,
When I got sick, I told my friend, it’s such a “harsh weather (!?)”
When I got drunk and vomited first, I told my friend, I drink as “twice” as you,
When my applications were rejected, I told my friends, they’re such stupid folks.
When I had no money, I told my friend, “money won’t buy you happiness”,
….
But when I stop.. bullshitting (& admit it’s all my fault), all of a sudden I feel a lot bolder, stronger and more responsible!

It’s time to stop giving excuses and be responsible for my own life.

What’s Personal Development?

Congratulation! I don’t know what brings you here. But if you’re just ever interested in personal development, you’re way ahead of most people in this planet. Most people don’t even give just a passing thought to the subject. So again congratulation, as I completely agree with Steve Pavlina’s idea for his famous book, personal development is only for smart people.

What’s Personal Development?

Have you ever wondered why there are more poor and failed than rich and successful people? Why the richest 2 percent of adults in the world own more than half the world’s wealth? Or more personally, why you live? what you live for?… Your personal development journey probably starts when you ask yourselves such questions. Personal development or self development is basically the study and practice of changing and improving not somebody else but YOURSELF. It involves personal change, growth, progress, advancement and improvement. It’s a personal pursuit of excellence as opposed to settling for mediocrity. Sometimes personal development is simply the process of asking and answering by yourselves some questions which you have never ever done before such as “Why should I go to college?” and “Why should I work 8 hours a day?”.

Personal development is not something that can be learned and absorbed over night. In my mind, it is a never-ending process but it can be LEARNED by anyone at any ages, not matter what gender, race and where you come from.

Why is Personal Development?

Personal Development is essentially important. Many of us have already known perfectly that we need to stop eating junk food, stop smoking, exercise frequently and sleep early; some even know that they should quit their jobs and should never have a religion. But at the end of the day, most of us don’t bother to do anything. This is when Personal Development comes in to help.

From the inside, personal development helps you change your bad habits and thinking; improve your awareness, identify your values and belief, foster your natural abilities, build and enhance your self-discipline. Personal development is self-actualization. What’s more, personal development leads you to the greatest life philosophies that have ever existed such as “Success is something you attract by the person you become” (Jim Rohn) or “You are what you think about all day long” (Earl Nightingale). Through personal Development, you have the ability to access and learn outstanding lessons which you were and would never be taught anywhere else. Ultimately, personal development grows you to become the best person you could possibly be – the person who could help you overcome any problems and difficulties you would encounter in your life journey. That person helps you make the right choices; take decisive and effective actions and eventually succeed in any fields you want no matter it’s health, career, finances, relationship or spirituality.

You don’t need to be better anyone else but yourself!” – Rexy

From the outside, your attraction acquired by personal development will help you attract more attractive people to your life. Together with making your life more fun and interesting, the results of surrounding yourself with outstanding people are unbelievable.

When you are already there, you cannot fail to get rich or whatever you want in life. You’d probably find yourself lose the initial interest in the material side of life like money, fame or power. You would, instead, look for more love, contributions and such. The power and importance of personal development is unquestionable and that’s why every serious student of life should learn Personal Development more than any other subjects.

How to start

This is the hardest and most important part. At the end of the day, no matter how much you read; how interesting you feel, unless you take immediate action, you won’t get anywhere further. Mere and random reading doesn’t work! In fact, as you dilly-dally, the whiny and mediocre voice on you takes over, telling you to remain complacent and unchanged. But on the other hand, if you take action and your actions are consistent with what you read and want to do, there wouldn’t be any more room for that voice. And it turns out not be that hard as it seems to be. As Jim Rohn once said, success is easy; do the easy things, you can quickly start your PC journey by doing anything in this list:

Start a blog of any kind about what you already like and wish to write. Even if you don’t know what to write about, just promise yourself to jot down something –  it may be your daily experience, feelings and such like a journal or diary, at least once a week and don’t let your blog idle for so long, you would already get a promising start. I offer free service of setting up and hosting a FREE blog at my domain for anyone who wish to start a blog but don’t have a capability to do so. As in my own experience, it’s better if you start to blog using WordPress instead of free blogging services like Blogger.

Read a book! To be honest, I’m really lazy in reading. I wouldn’t read any random books. All the books I’ve read are highly recommended by highly successful people. So my book library may be a good start for you. From which you would know what interests you and where you should go next.

Do some little thing that you’ve never ever tried before such as go out and talk to a stranger, say thank you to your mum, etc. Remember, the key is to do small, “easy” things consistently every day.

To conclude,

When somebody ridicules that you are very lousy and stupid, you reply nothing but a pitiful smile.

When you worry others’ rights and profits more than yours.

When you help others without any personal calculations.

When you give more than you receive.

That what personal Development is all about.
