What I love

“- I like pretty, long legged girls!
– I also like to have lots of money.

Opps, sorry this article is about what I love not what I like.

Like vs Love?

Like & Love both describe what we want. But they are different (significantly different!).

For me Like is more about. In terms of time, it’s more like instant, now, at the moment & probably doesn’t last (long). Maybe I’d like to have a beer now (becos it’s hot) but I wouldn’t wanna have it later at night. I may like a tall & pretty PR girl but it doesn’t mean I want to live with her forever.

Love is something with a stronger feeling than like. It usually last longer as well. If I love beer, I would drink it very often (unless I’m sick :D) & would wanna try different kinds of beer to see what’s best. If I love someone, I will want to do lots of things with her (to see what we like best). But if I like someone, I may like to do one thing with different girls (to see who‘s the best).
Don’t blame me, it’s just an example which is probably true as well 😀

We may like to have money but surely we don’t wanna sleep with money. Money is just a old & dirty paper. Money alone doesn’t have or carry any meaning nor feeling… We may hear someone says they love money. Wrong! They don’t love money they love what money may bring them – which they may not know either…

So I think there is a misunderstand & intepretation between LOVE & LIKE.

Okies so What I love?

pretty tough question, isn’t it?
Alright:

I love numbers
Don’t tell me that you don’t. Get it? 😛

I love stats & probability
that’s why sometimes I’m tempted to my “knowledge” & luck in gambling 😀

I love traveling

I love beaches
I’ve visited quite a few beautiful beaches so far

I love meeting & talking to new people
though actually I’m really not good at it.

In a broader view,

I <3 History

Yea I know. History is such a boring subject. You would say. But I think otherwise. Born in Hue – the last imperial capital of Vietnam – where one of the most devastating & longest American war took place; My great great grandfather & his children were also like minister & mayor (Thuong Thu) under the Nguyen Dynasty; Growing up watching (& being influenced by) many Chinese imperial movies,… So I can’t do anything & but fall in love with history.
Most of all, I’m forever curious – I’d love to know what really happened in the past…

I <3 Psychology

Have you ever loved someone so much that you feel like you would die if you lose him/her? Have you ever seen girls who always claim her Mr. Right must be a good & nice guy would eventually fall in love with a bad & playboy-kind of guy? Have you ever noticed some guys with some seemingly born-traits that could enable him to get anything he/she wants while the rest of us can’t?
Have you ever wondered why it happens?
90% of those “magic” things would be attributed to “psychology” – which is fun, practical, learn-able & useful if not utterly important. That’s why I just love it!

I <3 Personal Development

If I would ever be successful (which I believe I will :D), I will attribute all to PD. There are many born gifted people but so do poor-to-rich people who overcome their terrible environment, conditions,.. to be great. These stories are just forever inspiring for all of us!

I <3 Teaching & Inspiring

I started “teaching” others since very young but the real & official teaching would only start in high school when I made some money (sometimes in form of free breakfast or drinks :D) teaching my friends English, Maths (?)…  Teaching is the ultimate form of learning & inspiring.

If we can’t teach & empower our friends, our employees & especially our kids to be better than us, we may be considered failures because our success (wealth, happiness, etc. if there is) is not sustainable. I remember I taught & guided my ex in some subjects that she ignored, which eventually helped her to have excellent & even better grades than mine in our graduation exam. Honestly, it’s a bit embarrassing 😀 but I realise when my “students” are better than me, I know I’ve succeeded (whether they acknowledge it or not) 🙂

><

to be cont…

My Setup: Tools Review

A so-called IT/tech person yet haven’t really utilize tech in daily life yet.
In the sake of simplicity, I’m still usually using pen & papers for most of my stuff like jotting down stuff, writing to-do lists… Though pen & papers still works amazingly great, I realise some tech (both soft & hardware) if used properly can enhance my productivity & management a lot!

Found this awesome website where they conduct interviews with some awesome gals & guys to know their working set-up. Will try out some of the tools & do some reviews here:

“Financial Freedom”?

I’m pretty surprised that “financial freedom” in many people’s points of view is the state of being financial free from their … mom!? In other words, “financial free” in their terms refers to when they get a job. (!!?)

Gosh, what a naive thought!!!

Well, once you get a job, it’s true that you don’t depend on your mom like what you’ve done in the last 22 years plus anymore but… yes, BIG BUT, you then depend on the much more scary, frightening than your mom that is your job – your boss – your company or whatever you wanna name it.

Well, to be honest, I was damn happy receiving my first little pay check – my bosses asked me to commence work 3 days before my contract started to help them with an urgent project, they paid me $50/day.

When you first start your job, you may feel very good upon receiving your pay check. You would feel deservedly like I did because that is what you try hard to get – yes, in compared to showing your poor face & asking your mom for money.

But then…

It’s good that you don’t depend on your mom. But it’s equally bad or even worst if you then depend on your boss or your job. Why?

(I want you to discover this by yourself – in fact, it’s better that way but – yes but again, ok let me just tell you… cos I’ve seen many people leave their lives without realising this.)

– 1st, you trade your 2 most important things for that (guess what they are). Some even trade their family, friends, etc. just to please their bosses in order to get a higher position, thereby higher pay check.

– 2nd and most importantly, you enter the so-called “rat race” which is quite hard to escape especially when you’re highly educated. (!!)

What’s next?

You would always look forward to weekends – not to enjoy the days with your loves and friends but to escape.

You would be scared of Sunday night & Monday morning blues become a syndrome of a new incurable disease.

You would want to travel a lot – a lot more – good? no, not for the seek of traveling and exploring but escaping – escape the nightmare at daytime.

….

One day you would realise it’s hard to get in (get a job) but it’s even harder to get out (leave that job). Hopefully, by then it’s not too late – it is never too late huh? Good luck!

ps: I was same as you – under those peer, social, family pressure, getting a job after graduate is a MUST.
Our mom & family want us to get a job so that we wouldn’t depend on them – for good reasons. But they don’t know that what they’re doing is pushing us to a race that’s even harder to get out than to get in. Well, it’s not totally their faults. They try hard. They do their best for us. Just that stupid people never know that they are stupid… (sorry if it hurts anyone…)
I did enter the race. But I am lucky enough to know that I should stop. Hope you do too.

Lead but Lead Who?

Most people can just follow. Only a few can lead.

But even if you are one of them, it may not be enough. The question would now become: Lead. Yes. But lead who?

Are you the kinda of person who can attract others to join you?
Do you have what it takes to become a leader?
Can you both talk the talk & walk the walk?
Have you done anything that’s worth mentioning?….

If one of your answer is “no” or vague, should it be better if you follow others?
Following is actually not bad a thing as long as your leader is great. You will learn a lot from him rather than leading a bunch of stupid people.

Ultimately, you have gotta become a leader – leading others. If you don’t lead, other will lead you. And unfortunately, as said, not all the leaders are great. In fact, many are selfish, arrogant,  if not even stupid. They will take advantage of you, treat you as an idiot which you don’t deserve at all.

Lead but lead who? Follow but follow who? They’re not easy questions…

I’m having more people in my team than my bosses have in the office. It’s kinda different but it is a good sign. Keep going!

2014’s resolutions

I told my friend for 2014 is: FUNDAMENTAL

I follow Robin Sharma’s Formula for Uncommon Success This Year :

  1. Know Your One Thing
    th*vietnamw*r.info
  2. Know Your 3 Key Habits
That was my mistake last year when I was not specific, didn’t clarify & just wanna build “as many habits as possible”

    • I Meditate & Visualize for min. 30′ a day
    • I Read 1 hour a day – 30′ in the morning & 30′ before going to bed (including SoGR)
    • I Join the 5 o’clock club
  3. Delete The Energy Vampires
  4. Invest In Personal Development
  5. Seek Out Big Joys

Freedom in Discipline

Freedom

We should be free from any taboos, brainwashing and propaganda.
We should have the rights to talk, to learn & to express our opinions…

We were born under various environments & conditions but have the same abilities.
We have freedom to choose!

Discipline

Without discipline, freedom and rights would likely be used arbitrarily. Guidelines & penalties should be in place when necessary.
Everyone should have their own principles and stick with it.

But…

We’re still human after all. We aren’t robots. We have emotion & feelings. So…

We shouldn’t follow instructions, requirements, etc. blindly.
We should listen to advices but then make our own decisions.
We should live the life we wanna live not the one we’re expected to.

You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. – Mae West

We are all different by nature. So don’t try to act and live the same way as others.
